I arrived at the lake around 7 pm. It was overcast, and there was a nice south-westerly wind blowing into the first swim, so that’s where I went. There were two other anglers on the other side in swims 6 and 11.
The right-hand rod went on the same spot as the previous night off the right-hand bank margin.
I had a lead of about 10-12.5 wraps in open water. It became apparent that there was a lot of silkweed out there to the left, in the middle of the swim. In the end, I settled for the same spot as I fished the previous night at 12.5 wraps out. This area was firmer and clearer. This was the middle rod.
I had a further lead about closer in for the left-hand rod. A lot of fresh Canadian pondweed is coming up on this bank, extending out to around 5-6 wraps. I found a nice hard area in front of the weed down to my left, about eight wraps out.
All three rods were fitted with 2-inch hinge stiff rigs and had a kilo of boilies spread between them.
Throughout the session, I saw or heard nothing. Nothing else came out. Another angler confirmed that much hadn’t been out lately, and the lake was fishing poorly. I left around 9 am.
