Most people use tubing because the rules say they have to.
Not because they actually understand what it’s doing.
ESP Tungsten Tubing is built differently.
It’s loaded with tungsten, which makes it seriously heavy for what it is — so instead of hovering or lifting, it pins everything down tight to the lakebed.
It’s supple, abrasion resistant, and designed to protect both your line and the fish.
That’s the pitch.
Here’s how it actually played out for me…
I started using it on a reservoir where tubing (or safezone/fluoro leaders) was mandatory.
Before that, I was on leadcore.
So again — not a “want to switch”… a “have to switch.”
First thing you notice?
It sinks like a stone.
Not “kind of sinks”… I mean you can actually feel the weight of it doing its job. Once it’s down, it stays down — which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to keep everything pinned and out the way.
That was the biggest win for me.
Rigs behaved properly too.
No unnecessary tangles, everything sat how it should — especially paired with ESP sleeves, beads, and safety components. It all just worked together without having to fight it.
Now… it’s not perfect.
Threading it can be a pain.
But there’s a fix — run a tail rubber and lead on a lead clip to stretch it slightly, and it becomes way easier to work with.
Once you know that, it’s a non-issue.
End of the day?
It does exactly what tubing is supposed to do:
✔ Protect the fish
✔ Keep everything pinned
✔ Stay within the rules
No drama.
That’s why I ran it.
Only reason I’ve moved away now is because I’m fishing clearer water — so fluoro leaders and safe zone setups make more sense for invisibility and convenience.
But if you’re on waters where tubing is required…
Or you just want something that actually hugs the deck properly instead of floating around like an afterthought…
This stuff does the job.
