Got down the lake in the dark about 6.30 pm. One other angler in swim 4 went directly opposite in swim five. The same swim fished in the previous session.
I got the Tempest up and everything in place first to get the rigs sorted under the bivvy light.
First was the middle rod, an adjustable zig with a black pop-up cast 13 wraps into the middle zone and set four feet below the surface.
Then, the right-hand rod off the reeds where I heard fish in the zone on the previous trip.
Then, the left-hand rod, down to the left of me, around 5, wraps in 6 feet of water. Both rods were the usual hinge-stiff rigs with 2-inch pop-ups. Ten freebies were placed around each rod.
It was a cold night, clear with northerly winds too cold to sit out. I got in the bag around 9.30 pm and stayed there till 7 pm.
Didn’t see or hear anything throughout the session and was away by 9 am. On waking, two other anglers had turned up for the day. A handful of fish were out at the weekend.
